Shipping Data Analysis and Distribution Center Scale Calculation Software
Calculation Rules & Procedures
1-1. Explanation of Data Processing
Explanation of Calculation Rules & Procedures
- Load Excel format shipping data into Access. Place changed shipping data files in the specified folder when the software is stopped. (Delete the original shipping data file or move it to a different folder)
- Create a new processed data file to store the values after data processing. (See Figure_004 for file structure and description)
- Conversion value calculation and Case/Bulk shipping determination
- The shipping quantity unit in the shipping data file is bulk count. See Figure_004 for calculation formula.
- Case/Bulk shipping categories are calculated based on the following rules:
- If Int(Bulk Count/Quantity per case) >= 1, it's Case shipping.
- If Int(Bulk Count/Quantity per case) >= 1 and Int(Bulk Count/Quantity per case) * Quantity per case < Bulk Count, it's Case/Bulk shipping.
- If Int(Bulk Count/Quantity per case) < 1, it's Bulk shipping.
- Output provisional aggregation to the screen
- Provisional aggregation is a simple itemized aggregation of processed data.
- Outputting this provisional aggregation to the screen conveys the overview of the shipping data to the user, making it easier to select the analysis date.
- Also, save the provisional aggregation data in Access to use it as correct data for checking whether the analysis/aggregation during Tera calculation 1 & 2 is correct.
1-2. Data Processing Purpose Detailed Flow
To avoid duplicate calculations, values frequently used during the execution of software calculations 1 and 2 are calculated and grouped in advance and linked to the shipping data.
This processed data reduces the calculation load of Tera calculations 1 and 2 and increases the processing speed of the entire software.
- Enter shipping rank setting conditions from the keyboard (See Figure_006)
- The shipping date to be analyzed is displayed as the Tera setting on the day with the highest number of rows (records), and can be changed by clicking the list box.
- Data processing is performed on all records of the shipping data.
- (Internal Note: I want to delete the "shipping date to be analyzed" input on this screen and set it on the extraction condition screen.)
- The rank ratio can be freely changed, provided the total equals 100%.
- The Tera setting (default value) is A1 → 50%, A2 → 20%, B → 15%, C → 10%, D → 5%.
- The case shipping rank key is Tera-set by case count, and the bulk shipping rank key by row count (record count).
- The rank key can be changed using radio buttons.
- After confirming/changing the settings and pressing the start button, ranking is performed and the result is written to the processed data file.
- ** Reason for displaying normally impossible selection keys: A calculation that takes 2-3 days by hand can be done in 1-2 minutes. The software creator's intention is for users to change the shipping rank setting conditions in various ways and check the output results.
- There are 4 tasks for creating ranks, but since the method is the same, the calculation method at the time of Tera setting for the case shipping item rank will be explained.
- A. Aggregate the number of cases per item shipped by case from the processed data to create the C-unit shipping I-aggregation.
- B. Sort in descending order of case count using the case count (aggregated count) of the C-unit shipping I-aggregation as the key.
- C. Add the column name "Rank" to the C-unit shipping I-aggregation and assign sequential numbers from the top.
- D. Relate the C-unit shipping I-aggregation data "Item" with the processed data file "Item" and copy the data of the C-unit shipping I-aggregation to the processed data file (See Figure_005).
- ** "C-unit shipping I-aggregation" means "Item aggregation for case unit shipping".
2-1. Shipping Data Analysis
Analysis Condition Setting Screen
- Specify the shipping date to be analyzed and aggregated
- The Tera setting is "Day with maximum rows".
- By specifying the shipping date (radio button), you can select the shipping date to be analyzed and aggregated from all shipping dates.
- Specify whether the analysis target is case shipping or bulk shipping
- The Tera setting is "Case shipping".
- Shipping data separates "Case shipping" and "Bulk shipping". If "Bulk shipping" is selected, bulk shipping will be analyzed and aggregated.
- If "Case shipping + Bulk shipping" is selected, case shipping and bulk shipping are combined. Although not actually used to utilize data, it is aggregated and displayed for reference.
- Condition extraction by items in the shipping data
- The Tera setting is "Select All".
- Unchecking an item in the list excludes it from the analysis aggregation target.
- Specify the range of processed data shipping ranks
- The Tera setting is "Select All".
- Specifying a range limits the analysis aggregation to that range.
- Set conditions to further narrow down the settings (Under construction)
** If all extraction conditions are "True", it becomes the target data for analysis aggregation.
- Analysis Aggregation "Start (Re)" button
- Pressing the start button starts calculations based on the selected extraction conditions of 1-4, displaying the EIQ matrix table and conventional calculations.
- EIQ Matrix Table (Explained separately)
- Conventional Calculation (Explained separately)
- Characteristic 1 seen from all data aggregation
- Displays the minimum, average, and maximum numerical values by item of the shipping data (e.g., quantity per case, PL case load count).
- Displays the estimated minimum, average, and maximum case vertical and horizontal dimensions from the volume (shipping data does not include case dimensions).

Building Specification Setting and Site Area Flowchart / Screen
1. Condition Setting
- Specify building aspect ratio and building specifications (The original logistics space for calculation is expressed in area. There is no concept of dimensions).
- The values of 2 and 3 are updated and re-displayed.
- When "Building Calculation (Re)" is clicked, it is recalculated and 2 and 3 are re-displayed.
2. Building Plan Dimension Display
- Vertical and horizontal dimensions are displayed according to the building aspect ratio.
- Changes in outer wall thickness and firewall thickness are reflected in the calculation.
- Building elevation dimensions can be checked by clicking the Building Elevation Dimension Tab.
- The plan and elevation drawings when making a separate building can be checked by clicking the Separate PL Automated Warehouse Plan/Elevation Tab.
3. Display of Main Building Area and Separate Building Area
- Building floor dimensions display.
- Floor area and projected area display.
